Petrified

Petrified

written by: Chún Xuán Yu

No one else made me feel like a Ferris wheel
Not with all the feelings you keep lingering
Not with the sudden messages reminding me that I like you
No matter how I want to ignore, I just go around

You can go and bite me and shade my life
Drink my blood like it’s sustaining yours
Or start at the back of my neck
Like I’m an omega getting a permanent mark

My sincerity is the cuff holding me
From saying I don’t feel anything
To make myself fall again
This is the insanity of being me

I cannot move on, even though I walked through all of it
I was ineffable by not you, but the thought of you
Retreating is my best choice when I do not
All I hold is the quaint of you that is inside of me

Am I petrified that I can’t let you go?
At the point that we don’t have “we”
Hanging on the sampling tree
It is not me fixing what is not broken

Is my heart in a vegetative state?
That I cannot tell love and life
Where can I be more than looking for you
But who am I to tell? Your inscrutability excites me

Confession is a thing that can burn bridges
Serpentine is blowing my brain on the edges
Can I ruin the friendship?
Just to tell a joke: I love you.
