Plot Twist

Plot Twist

written by: Sharona Reeves

Past, present, future…
It is all the same.
It runs together like the clouds with the rain.
Perceptions vary.
You said this.
I thought that.
I meant this.
Your response reveals the facts.

Benefit of innocence…
The story tells itself.
Plot twist.
It was always meant to be just like this.
The “end,” nonexistent
if the beginning, as we think, never takes place.

The lines run together like mist in the morning dew.
Understand the me, this is never a guarantee.
Understand the you, only is true to the fool.
We never miss the moment,
but reason for the season sometimes eludes us.

A being, in sync with time itself, a danger to behold, as the soul always knows.
In the depths of the night, veils lift and worlds collide.
The woken world is a vicious cycle:
do this like this, if not, you miss your flight.
Always denied by the faction, the fraction of reality that distorts normalcy.

Awake in the hush, where silence screams loudest.
Movements stir beneath, ancient and lawless.
We mask the quake with to-do lists and screens,
while life, undistracted, shifts in between.
