Resentment

Your tender words,
drown in acrimony.
Take this bitter pill,
swallow
it
whole,

Spit out your words,
strike it down
with fury.
Setting
these flames,
ablaze,

against
the frenzy,
Seized by the wind,
capture it inside a bottle,
let it break
like glass.

Inhale this poisonous aroma,
of our passive resistance,
wrapping it around our necks,
Strangle it,
Choke it,
Embrace the force,

Overwhelm
our will
to survive.
Catch our breath
against our pallid skin
Cold, barren to the touch

Let the light shine,
Breathing in new life
Overwhelm this darkness
Seeping through
my veins
Draining the lifeblood

Absorb this pain,
Carry it down to the abyss,
deep down into the confines
Of where secrets lie,
beneath the surface,
perish there for all eternity.
