Paralysis

Paralysis

Let the raindrops fall
Against the window pane
Streaming down like shards of glass
Baptizing the swollen earth
With determined purpose

Through the dark maze
of spindly cavernous depths
Damp with an arctic chill
Breathing in frosty air
Beneath the dank catacombs

Entrap these frigid tears
Encapsulate the dearth
Of warmth obsolete from
My listless body
Exasperated by the stillness

Fury subsides from within
Eager resistance takes hold
Languid and limp
A tyranny reverberating
Muted through a faint pulse
