It arrived unexpectedly
The packaging torn, frayed at the corners
From over-handling
The knot loose,
The legend faded, almost illegible
And yet, somehow, it found its way back
I took it in, dexterously
Placing it delicately on my old armchair
And finished the unwrapping
That had begun a lifetime ago
