Rust and Dust

Rust and Dust

The deepest of love and all our infatuaed lust inevitably turned to rust and dust;
Remembering, you fatefully said, we would never break those iron bonds of togetherness and trust;
Stood silently and earthly still beneath a waning pale blue moon, endlessly mouthing the words of our once favourite song;
Waiting in vain for the cloaked dark dawn to steal silently and uninvitedly in, to prove everything you presciently foretold was wrong.
