Shellshock

Dispersed news of concentrated suffering,
history lesions, projected terror, exiled poets,
images of parting families’ mourning.

It all comes together
as things get blown apart,
amongst the rubble
behind unending horizons.

Aghast in absurd comfort,
chewed up in the significance
of every living soul.

A global village,
of sound-proofed glass houses,
each with our portable voids
to scream into.
