Sugar Plum Moon

White clouds
flow and intertwine
into the scarlet-rosy sky,
forming candy canes.

Aroma of cinnamon bark,
hot chocolate, sweet apple pie,
settled gingerbread, peppermint,
and charred firewood, permeates
through winter’s gelid, pale-sapphire hair,
around the pine tree’s green bristles,
down the scarlet-ebony chimney,
and swallowed by the fire’s gold-auburn mouth.
The flames’ complexion changes –
becoming mauve-rosy.

Snowflakes plummet and twirl
into the forest –
transforming into snow ballerinas.

Snow ballerinas, callow, graceful,
and delicate, form a circle
in the center of the forest,
performing Winter’s alluring, thaumaturgy dance.

Violins’ strings strum
their settled, high notes
in harmony with the cellos’
low, solemn strings
while the piano plays
its sweet, Christmas lullaby.

The moon appears –
its mauve-rosy light irradiates
its translucent, wintry ensorcellment.

I want to dance under the Sugar Plum Moon
I want to dance under the Sugar Plum Moon
I want to dance under the Sugar Plum Moon
