Tale of the Sibling Stars

Together they stand,
A union of lights,
The brightest of all,
They are called sibling stars,
Embellishing the night sky.

They decided to drift apart,
Claiming they needed space,
They felt it was burdensome
To lean on each other’s shoulders,
Believing it a heavy load
To stand hand in hand,
So apart they went.

Things were never the same
As they shone separately,
The wonder of the fullness of their light was gone,
The glory of the night’s beauty was absent,
Nothing held in awe,
No enchantment wafted through the sky.

Nature mediated,
And the elements arbitrated,
Soon they came together again,
Filling the heavens with great joy,
Creating something to make the night watchers wonder
