The Coffee House Stage

The Coffee House Stage

written by: Elizabeth Sams

Dimmed lights and fluttering candles
greet the listeners.
A lone stool draped with tie-dyed fabric
awaits the artist.
Time passes.
The artist appears.
Haunting melodies fill the night
with soft yearnings
and I weep.
I weep for years past
and for time lost.
I weep for talents buried deep
and now emerging.
I weep for possibilities to come.
