Her Helping Hand

Her Helping Hand

written by: ShadowsOfAeon

She gave me a rope to help me out
Out of the hole I had fallen into
It was the rope she was gonna use
To hang herself

She lent me a hand
The one she cut to relieve herself
She gave me a shoulder to cry on
Even though she was in dire need of one herself

Gave me some pills
The ones that kept her sane
Gave me a sip of the bottle
She used to cope with the pain

Water she gave me
To put out the fire
Even though she was the one
Going up in flames

She lent me a hand
The one she cut to relieve herself
She gave me a shoulder to cry on
Even though she was in dire need of one herself

Showed me the music that helped her
Through the frequent storms
Even though she was on a boat
Still hoping to make it home

Love she gave me
No one had ever given her
Food she made me
She hadn’t eaten in over a year

She lent me a hand
The one she cut to relieve herself
She gave me a shoulder to cry on
Even though she was in dire need of one herself

She gave me her helping hand
When I couldn’t find the strength to stand
I then gave her my heart
The least I could do since she
Helped me find my spark
