The Daily

The Daily

written by: Carl “Papa” Palmer

7am Tacoma Washington
coffee thermos on the porch
house shoes & bath robe

sight shortened by morning fog
mist alters familiar landscape
erases neighborhood homes

streetlamp glow barely reaches
the ground as her haze shadowed
Honda arrives, lights blink twice,

waits at bottom of my driveway
with warm folded news tribune
and empty mug for a daily refill.
