The Lore of Love

The Lore of Love

written by: Pragnya

Someone still searches for you in a room full of people,
Someone learned from you how to love,
Someone still loves the song you made them listen to,
Someone still prays for you

Someone still uses the phrases you used to say,
Someone still misses your presence,
Someone once saw you as their sole guiding light in a room full of darkness.
Someone still visits the places you loved once,

Someone still remembers your birthday and hopes to wish you,
Someone out there pretends they are ok without you, and their heart doesn’t ache,
Someone wishes you were with them when it starts raining,
Someone wishes you were beside them while they are sipping a cup of tea.

Someone hoped to grow old with you,
Someone hoped to share all their sorrows with you,
Someone once saw you as their whole world,
Someone once loved you incessantly and with the entirety of their heart.

But the lore of love sometimes turns out to be indespicable,
It disrobes you of all the dreams and the future you once imagined with them
In the end, it leaves you with a handful of sweet memories to cherish

And you are perplexed your entire life, thinking Where did it all go wrong?
