The Road Less Travelled

written by: Vidya Venkataramanan

The crosses I bear,
Do tear
Into the path to peace,
Silver blotches of sunshine,
Do ease up
On the gravel,
As I travel
The road to a haven
They call heaven!

As far as the eye can see,
The road slopes upward,
Before it disappears
Into the future,
The sutured cracks
On the way,
Held together with
Faith,
The trees lining
The path,
Reminders of support,
For those who take the untrodden path,
A comfort
To know,
Someone has got your back!

The crosses I bear,
On the road to this Haven
They call heaven,
Does it lead to me?
Or to a place outside of me?

Fix the broken pieces
And you will see,
The jigsaw was in you,
All along,
As it always was,
You only perceived
It is a game
To be played!
