The Spirit of Halloween

All Hallows’ Day or Halloween
Marks that day of the year
When the spooks are on the prowl
And one hears the hoot of the owl
The jack-o’-lantern is lit up
To wipe out the eerie shadows of the night
To give you the feeling
That everything’s all right
Children go about playing trick or treat
Who doesn’t like sweetmeats?
How about some apple bobbing
Or visiting a haunted museum?
One way to ward off the spirits
Is to court them it seems!
