The Tiniest Change

The Tiniest Change

I have rolled through the same day again.
The same gray landscape that never changes
despite constant renovations.
I have rushed through the damp streets
illuminated by the crying sun.
This world had been engineered for lack of hope,
to stop the change in our hearts.
That’s when I’ve noticed
the time has stopped in your eyes,
as you have tossed the silver penny
to the restless fountain.
A single sun ray bounced from the spinning coin,
right into my eye.
It’s settled down there just for few moments
but it has brightened my day.
