The Vampire of The Opera

The Vampire of The Opera

written by: Anne Marie Bears

No one knows its era,
it’s an anonymous being;
they call it
“The Vampire Of The Opera.”

The dancers’ necks are its delight,
at each show enjoys –
strikes at the death of all light.

It bites them with taste,
beautiful maidens with malice
fall into its trap –
every time in the theatre company is a copy and paste.
