Thoughts At Dusk

Thoughts At Dusk

written by: Gayl Wright

@GaylWright

Out here on the porch swing
Writing in my journal
Nearly 8:00 pm
Air is cool

Darkness moving in
Visibility poor at dusk
I hear crickets and cicadas
Air is calm

Need to be outside more
Too much time at the computer
Dulls my senses
Air is stifling

Sights and sounds of nature
So full of light and life
Make me feel more alive
Air is refreshing

Darkness closing in now
Can hardly see to write
My body shivers slightly
Air is chilly

I’ll linger for a while
Breathing slow and deep
Then make my way inside
Air is warm
