Time Falls Silent

Time Falls Silent

written by: Luis Cuauhtémoc Berriozábal

It is time for bed.
It is about time.
I waited a lifetime.

Time falls silent
while the clock breaks.
The time Is over.
It is beyond time.

My body failed me
at thirty-four
and thirty-five.
I needed water

and exercise.
Don’t we all? For
the first time I
had to change things.

Back in time I had
a high ceiling.
At fifty-one I had
to kill the cancer.

At fifty-eight time
continues to tick
and I grind like
the gears of the clock.

In time everything
will fall into place.
Meanwhile, like fine
wine I bid my time.
