Let us make ourselves hungry by
Watching cooking shows.

The luminescent screens glorify falsities
Excuse the pits in our bellies.

We pretend to taste each other in
Red wine and custard but

We are hungry for more than layered pastries
Flirtatious chocolates.

We are hungry for each other
We are afraid to reach out.
