I am mortal
Therefore, I can be hurt and wounded.
I instinctively build walls to protect myself.
You tore down those walls so easily, it scared me.
I was unprepared for the feelings that overwhelmed me.
You are now my rock, my safe haven, my soulmate.
Now there is no longer I in my life.
It is now you & I, or simply Us.
You are the air I breathe,
Every beat of my heart
And every day I wake up
I’m thankful to have another day with you.
