We Hope for Better Days

We know we can’t get what we want on a silver platter,
but we hope for better days
when we won’t need to invite much sweat,
to our faces, just for our pockets to smile,
perhaps to feed the nation waiting for us at home.
Gazali Ganiyu Opeyemi is from Iwo, Osun state, Nigeria. He studied Architecture and graduated with a National Diploma (ND) from The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Nigeria (2022). Apart from being an Architect, he also finds joy in writing poems, well known as "Al Gainaan" which is his pen name.
