We Shall Meet Again at the Drury Lane

We Shall Meet Again at the Drury Lane

written by: Simona Prilogan

Wonder strolls its wings over Drury Lane,
Meeting beams of sun, sparking timelessness.
Smiles we once had shared over tales of love,
The transcendence’s hugs and the joyfulness
Breathe their longing air, wistful and innate,
Crafting rhymes of hope in the arms of fate.

Eyes to eyes told joy, bringing skies to earth,
Drawing maps of bliss in between the lines
Of a story wing, glowing rays of mirth,
Cheerfulness’s calm tune, and a heaven time.
Silent glances spoke poetry of dawns,
A rebirth of stars catching dreams alike.

Yet a windy rain poured drops of gloom
Carrying death from past of a Drury Lane.
Cinderella ran, and the show went wrong,
Twisting common sense into flares of dirt.
The November nights paused the storyline,
Just outside of scenes, storming peacetime’s song.

Rhymes were crying out, shadowing the pain,
Fate laughed at the stars and their innocence,
Scepticism gave birth to another game
Chanting songs of doubts with a pinch of salt.
We were kicked out of the saga’s lands
Questioning through winters our heavy fault.

Memories are bleeding, again and again,
While tulips are laughing at the sunny beams.
Transcendent and tender, thoughts are reaching out
To the same love story lost in Drury Lane.
Springs recall the heavens; stars are coming up.
Light defeats and clears the lies of the dark.

In the pipe dreams ever, hearts still follow love,
Innocent and gentle, caressing the grace.
When the meadows bloom, and the feelings dance
We shall meet again at the Drury Lane.
