Where Do I Begin

written by: Anne G

Where do I begin

to tell you what I truly feel

when I myself don't really know

On the surface all seems well

I'd go so far

to state I'm swell

Digging deeper are revealed

fragile layers

much too real

Thoughts I didn't know existed

trapped within my

mind's recesses

Truths and lies

buried so deep

secrets under lock and key

Nuggets of interpretation

flawed decisions

Lassitude, vissisitude

suppressed, repressed

Misspent youth

squandered time

tiny sparks remembrances

Love's indifference

hate's crevasse

what's begun cannot be stopped

Why write?
I write because I am:
Driven to distraction by the inequities of the society in which we live.
Motivated by cruelty, abuse, ignorance and indifference.
My intention: To poke, prod and provoke!
"Moderation is a fatal thing. Nothing succeeds like excess." - Oscar Wilde
