With a ripple, it began.
Whispers – doubt
words, then fear
waters stirred,
the waves appeared.
Swirling. eddy
cause – effect
threatening posture
rhetoric spewed.
Deep and dark
the current flowed
then it surfaced
and we knew.
Intention clear
the threat unveiled
naked scheme
a Putsch declared.
Annex Crimea
destroy Donetsk usurp Ukraine
Lithuania – Latvia
Estonia next?
Tanks and planes
soldiers – guns
panic – pain
the death knell tolled.
With a ripple it began.
