black bears shadow
the wetted bound
hunting snow
a polar bear’s jaw
warms up
feeding time…
room for more
at Mother Coyote Inn
dust clouds
Criollos lose
the moon again
sun and sky
sewn together
a macaw drapes its wings
R.C. Thomas resides in Plymouth, UK with his daughter. He graduated with a BA in Creative Writing from Plymouth University, and his poems and haiku have been published in print and online journals and anthologies internationally. He was selected as one of the ‘Top Creative Haiku Authors’ in Europe in 2021 and 2022, received joint first place in the Sharpening the Green Pencil Haiku Contest 2022, first place in the Third Maya Lyubenova Haiku Contest, and had a ‘Selected Haiku Submission’ in the 13th Yamadera Basho Memorial Museum English Haiku Contest. He has two poetry collections, 'The Strangest Thankyou' and 'Zygote Poems' (Cultured Llama, 2012, 2015). R.C. Thomas is currently working on several poetry and haiku manuscripts and the race to the finishing line is heating up.
