Rhythm’s Embrace

Rhythm’s Embrace

written by: Mike Turner

Silence settles with the night
Platinum stars mark pewter skies
While ragged muslin clouds drift past
Their shadows cast
‘Neath full moon’s rise

Warm moist winds breathe ‘cross damp sands
Emerald waves kiss golden shores
As palm fronds rustle in the breeze
‘Top swaying trees
Where night birds soar

‘Til all we hear are our hearts’ beats
Their gentle rhythms full of song
We sink then in their deep embrace
And find the place
Whence we belong
