Blow That Trumpet, Blow!

Blow That Trumpet, Blow!

written by: Mike Turner

Music goes ‘round and it comes out here*
Blow that trumpet, blow!
Take your place amongst music’s peers
Miles and Dizzy, the great Satchmo

Play that trumpet and play it loud
Give it all you got!
Set us to dancin’, leave us breathless, wowed
Make us jump, play that “le jazz, hot”

Next bring us on down with some mournful blues
Feelin’s – that’s your goal!
Let us hear emotion, know you’ve paid some dues
Touch the longing, deep, in your heart and soul

Now lift us back up with a Dixie groove
Make us shout for mo’!
Finally bring it all home with serene notes, smooth
Blow that trumpet, blow!
