Fractures in Full Bloom

Picking up the pieces
After making a mess
While understanding how
To rise above the rest,
And undergoing
A test of character
While striving to become
So much better,
So do away with darkness and gloom
While trying to make room
For brightness that would hopefully stay
No matter what happens
Come what may,
And move along while avoiding anything wrong
Day after day,
And strive to feel alive
While learning even more about
The common humanity
That all people share,
All while expressing gratitude
For the gift of air
