Mere Human

Mere Human

written by: James Yesley

The pixie dances on moonlight.
Far away from my troubles.
She’s cute as a button.
But, tough as nails.
She’s different and new.
Not like the others
She’s seen her share of the woes of this world.
It’s a beautiful season.
But there are too many black cats crossing my path.
Too much “hair of the dog.”
To fly with her would be wonderful.
But impossible for a mere human.
I have to keep walking these streets.
Hoping, for that one night.
The moonlight will shine upon my door.
There she’ll be, dancing for me and only me.
