I Am The Maiden

I Am the Maiden

I am the maiden
Winning is not my forte
“Why would we bet on you,” they say
For failure is your second name
But they don’t know
I don’t need their damn bets
The only bet I need is my own
I am the maiden
A rare breed
That hardly succeeds
They compare me with the aces
But they don’t know I am an infinite
I break and reform
I am the maiden
They mock when I fall
Little do they know
With each fall I learn
Learn to do better next time
For every failure is some strength gained
I may not have won just yet
But giving up is not my game
I am the maiden
A winner in the making
Fasten up your seat belts I say
You cannot unsee me for long
Soon my success will roar
I am the maiden
Your dark horse
