In A Midnight’s Dark

We gather in a midnight’s dark
Strobing spaces without names or faces
Collecting stories as we go
From momentary conversation
To diatribes
From dissertations that come alive
Of what makes you
Of what shapes me
Of all the misconstrued telemetry
missed life lessons for the books
consequential messes all mistook
That form a singular you
Not much that we can do about a past
So live and love what you’re becoming
Each breath is a new days dawning
No matter what’s in your pretty head
It’s there it’s all been written and reread
Collecting in the dark
Perchance to find a tiny spark
That flips a bigger switch
That turns into a wish
Minus a negative currents flow
Just a precedence set on positive
Here in one midnight’s dark
To set forth and embark
To the journey that is you
You the voyager guiding you
Toward and forward
Of all
that is
just you
Out in the midnight’s dark
