  1. Where, do you hail from?

I hail from my adopted home Sheffield here you will get called Duck, Love and even Softcock, the warmest friendliest people you could meet, always feel blessed to have landed here.

  1. What is the greatest thing about the place you call home?

Well difficult one this one because most will say Steel being the Steel City, but just second by a whisker is that Dripping Cake, never knew what one was till, I said I would buy the girls at work a buttie and a lady who worked for me said she would have a Dripping cake, with muck on and Salt and Pepper, first thought she was winding me up but no she wasn’t and for 50p you can’t go wrong.

  1. What turns you on creatively?

People, Situations, Nature, just about most things, I truly think that whatever subject you are writing about, it is not you that defines your creativity, it is that one person who connects with what is written… that is when for me the magic is made.

  1. What is your favorite word, and can you use it in a poetic sentence?

My favourite word… well another difficult question as I write simple poetry, maybe better called poor man’s poetry, I don’t use fancy words, because that is not me, I think keep it plain and simple, so most will understand hopefully, something that you can relate to, well that would be reyt fab, something that gets you thinking whilst puffing on a tab, Sometimes words that when you read them make you say Aww, even better if they have made your mouth drop to the floor.

  1. What is your pet peeve?

My pet peeve is those who think they are better than everybody else, that is a simple one to answer.

  1. What defines John Baverstock?

What defines me…. nothing defines me… Always consider myself as not a poet but just someone who plays with words, and if they create a smile then that is good, if they make you stop and think that too is good… and if you can relate to anything that I have written well that means we may well have had similar life experiences, or we have similar views….. Love to all… JB x
