We Shall Rise
written by: Dr. Gideon Sampson Cecil
I soar on the wings of the wind
contemplating this fragile world
like a God on high hidden from
mortal eyes.
I fall like a thunder bolt
into the angry sea
searching for my identity
among men full of eternal miseries.
I rise like the sun under the wings
of the azure skies
illuminating the earth from my
captivating glow.
We shall rise again when our
minds are dying in despair
like the eagle soaring on the
summits of the blue mountain.
I watch the birds flying over the
resting sea in the dying night,
the yellow tail of the moon kissing
their elegant wings,
we shall rise like these birds and
contemplate the world fleeting away
into the immortal glasses of our eyes.
