Nature, My Teacher

Nature, My Teacher

written by: Dr. MOLLY JOSEPH

When the evening glow
fades
spreading a darkness
silhouetted against
the green forest,
the torrent of waterfalls
flows through the rocks
with a roar, a music eternal,
that resonates through my being…
on yonder rock, there stretches an alligator…
I hearken…
the birds have sought refuge in their nested solace…
Crickets do chirp in recesses dark…
time! how fast you fleet, I revisit you, this lap of nature
after a decade and a half…
still, you remain the same, while I traversed long,
Knowing, growing, my family tree sustained, soulful with grandkids…
my life mate hale and hearty, still my support…
yet, time fleets…
loving faces of friends, their smiles cheering…
time fleets…
the places seen, the bondings made…time fleets…
hah, you remain the same Mother nature, unwithered by time…
On these rocks, water will flow forever
myself might disappear, soul may turn cosmic, eternal
merging into thy eternal
music…
Nature, my God! let me grow
spread and share with all
this sense my being here, on earth with you…
