Eroding Values

The grandiose of material hype,
beguiles the wavering soul,
blurs the vision of morality.
Passage of time dilutes the
the cladding of righteous beliefs.
Blinded by intoxication
of cosmetic affluence,
the vacillating mind shifts loyalty,
breaches the conflicting barrier.
A veil of selfishness befogs the intellect,
the potent alchemy of power and greed
disintegrates the scaffolding of the conscience,
principles compromised without an iota of guilt.
Ethical values finally sacrificed
at the altar of societal expectations.
After spending a decade as a teacher, Radhika now utilizes her time in creative pursuits. Her thoughts and ruminations on life found a home in her blog radhikasreflection on WordPress which she started in 2016. While she mostly writes poetry, her blog is a potpourri of photographs, prose and musings. Her writing style is lucid, which is mostly inspired by everyday life, people and experiences. She recently published her first book of haiku and poetry titled Eclectic Verses, which is available on Amazon.
