Beirut In My Heart

Beats of hearts scattered over the world
Echoing their griefs like never heard
Yearning cries of distress, rising higher
Racing towards the skies like a prayer
Oh, deep flower of my heart doesn’t bleed
Up you grow from your ashes like a seed
Tears like showers, flooding every street
Hands of hope, cooling the flaming heat

In your big heart, a dark mushroom grows
Neutralizing your colors, like a fire it glows

Mad thoughts of panic, here and there
Youths are crying, please someone care

Hammering shouts are calling your name
Everlasting love is putting off your flame
After the evil darkness, there will be light
Rainbows of salvation will win every fight
To Beirut, I shall come like a big knight
