Spotlight On Writers
Ron Kempton
- Where, do you hail from?
- What is the greatest thing about the place you call home?
I think it’s known far and wide that the weather here is beyond perfect. With a couple of seasonal exceptions, it’s pretty much about 73 degrees here all the time.
- What turns you on creatively?
The giant story that’s happening all around me all the time. Old movies, whatever music I’m listening to, song lyrics, poetry by Emily Dickenson or Dylan Thomas.
- What is your favorite word, and can you use it in a poetic sentence?
Choosing a favorite word is difficult. The word peaceful comes to mind. I often find the moon making its way into my prose.
From a place I share with my shadow, the peaceful moon rocks me to sleep.
- What is your pet peeve?
A rare event, but when I think of it I get steamed. My pet peeve is when someone sees me reading and asks “What are you doing?” I’m a page turner for Pendant Publishing. I get ten cents a page.
- What defines Ron Kempton?
Creative and talented. (That’s my wife’s description.) I love trees and reading. She is my muse I walk with always.
