A Heart Can Be
written by: theRavensproctor
I had a dream, I was splintering
My brown skin cracking
And breaking into pieces
Fingers falling into fragments
Youth exiting my skin
and floating into others
She was here, they were all here
at some point
Looking into the shallowness
of my eyes
Telling me “the depths of its brown”
Laying on sheets to cover their nakedness
Lying under me saying “they’re happy”
Her fingers rub my skin
I forget her name
They’re several names by now
Letters grouped together with syllables
That I can’t even recognize
And they constantly say “that they’re happy”
But I want to ask her
“what can be broken but still work?”
Then it’s over
As she starts to put her clothes on
