A Heart With A Hole In It
written by: Dickson Shreffler
How can we know the damage
Even to understand the pain
For some
Our existence is too much
For them to hold
In hands without fingers
We would help
If it weren’t for selfishness
That is all that’s left
In the undoing
You know
You were there in this dream
Where love and forgiveness
Were real
So real I found it impossible
To acknowledge
So I wouldn’t have to look in the mirror
And realize I forgot to give either
