Enchanting Aura
written by: Maliya Denise Wilmore
Looks.
It’s one thing to have looks—
It is another to have an aura.
Not everyone’s presence is strong.
Some are beautiful and light,
They radiate an airy presence.
But then,
some are just looks—
No depth,
No roots.
Can you imagine?
a flower in a vase,
No water—
Just a pretty face.
But I write about depth.
Can you feel my aura?
In these pages I bleed
With the pulse of me—
My enchanting aura
It’s not a boast,
It is a glimpse
I want you to see
What it is like to be an aura
Without a face to see
I know I am pretty.
I once held insecurities,
Something shifted—
Now, I want to inspire:
To learn yourself.
And treat yourself well.
I woke up one day and said:
“I am here.”
No mask,
No cheat.
Just me,
and my defeats.
My magnetism?
It’s something unique.
You’ll feel it
When I am near,
When I am there,
I can soothe—
Or terrify.
You choose.
But don’t you dare
Push me there.
Honey,
I wish you well
But don’t swell.
I remind myself to smile—
Now and then
As I am always watched
Can you hear me well?
I am not conceited,
But here’s your ticket—
Enjoy the show.
I know you like
watching me most.
