A Mother’s Death
written by: Griffin
In the loud rhythm of a sorrowful sky
the raindrops descend, tears of the heavens
each one a lament for my mother’s departure.
She, once the bringer of warmth and tender embrace
now covered by the white shroud of death
her laughter echoes in sync with the pattering droplets
a gentle song sung by the sobbing clouds.
The soil drinks the tears
as if the earth itself mourns her loss
the void left by a love that once bloomed
now like a garden of melancholic flowers.
In the rhythmic dancing of raindrops
I feel the echo of her heartbeat, though nonexistent
a subtle reminder of the short-lived nature of life
and the delicate nature of human bonds.
Each raindrop, a tiny vessel of reminiscence
cascading down the streetlamps like liquid time
I trace the shape of grief in the rivulets
A map of pain and grief etched on my soul.
The world, a greyscale canvas painted with loss
as the rain washes away the vibrant hues of joy
leaving behind a somber palette of memories
drenched in the grief of my mother’s absence.
Yet, in the rain-soaked stillness, there’s a sense of comfort
a quiet understanding that love does persist
for every raindrop that kisses the earth
carries a whisper from the world in which she now lives.
