A Question I Ache

every time I’m at
a constant state
of remembering
what existed once
so very long ago
even though in many
ways it was very
admittedly volatile
a mystified evolution
a figment of my past
particularly one I wish
I didn’t have to reflect
on what once was had
a maddening question
unable to cope with
because you’re not
here for me to ask
so I’ll keep it sealed
but before contained
for always I’ll whisper
it into the caring wind
that someway in this
crazy mixed up place
it finds your lovely ear
did you mean it when
you said? “please stay”
