A Spring Day on Silvermine Bay

A Spring Day on Silvermine Bay

written by: Sonia FL Leung

Blossom by blossom
the spring
announces its arrival.

A wet wind blows
across my face,
moistening my soul.

Pearls of dew
glisten on the grass,
like tears from last night’s dream.

A bumblebee
bunts and bunts,
until it enters the heart of a flower.

The sound of the surf
breaks on the beach,
flushing toxic thoughts out of my brain.

Breathing in
the briny air,
I feel my heart rejuvenating like a bud.
