A Word To Oscar

written by: Anne G

A word to Oscar

if you please -

your jig is up

illusion crushed

Pompous prattling

posturing roles

disingenuous platitudes

foolish words

Spectacular carnaval

self-serving charade

insincerity drools

hypocrisy rules

Awarded rewards

a chosen few

unmerited baubles

egotistical fools

Overrated event

mired in guise

craft once admired

talent is spent

Why write?
I write because I am:
Driven to distraction by the inequities of the society in which we live.
Motivated by cruelty, abuse, ignorance and indifference.
My intention: To poke, prod and provoke!
"Moderation is a fatal thing. Nothing succeeds like excess." - Oscar Wilde
