Abel and Cain

written by: Johannes Springenseiss

hereby we intonate
the tragedy of Abel and the tragedy of Cain

in the faraway maze of old legends
two brothers were living in the early days
they shared father and mother
but differed in heart differed in soul

Abel worked God’s land and tended to the flock
Cain would wake up to fury and wrath
Abel planted the good seeds for life to grow
Cain was jealous and lived by the sword

let’s listen to the ballad and contemplate
we all are Abel and also Cain
