All I Want This Year

All I would want this year,
is more than Christmas cheer.
Impossible it seems,
to want what’s in my dreams.

Most want to receive gifts,
but I want that which lifts
the grief from those I love,
so no more looking above.

If you haven’t yet guessed,
I want all to be blessed
with the ones they have lost.
No more paying the cost.

Having back those held dear,
loving them free and clear.
Without shedding a tear,
is all I want this year…
