All is an Illusion

If all is an illusion
Made up from your imagination
You are writing this poem
And if all words have a twin that is light
The spectrum you create is only seen by your own mind’s eye
If all is a dream forming in your mind
Then nightmares cannot harm you
And if resonance is the closest sound can come to touch
I sing to you your name in ten thousand harmonic notes
Recognize the brightness of love
Remember the brilliance of compassion
For all is an illusion
And you are the poet
My writing is typically written while I'm on a treadmill, so I call myself "the treadmill poet!"
Born in West Chester Pa in 1960 I have been inspired to begin writing again through my interactions with two people I care deeply about that are experiencing the torrents of mental illness.
