I’ve always read. I love where the stories take me. Author Louisa May Alcott's Little Women remains my all-time favourite. I went through stages; Stephen King’s horror in my late teens, then Dean Koontz. In 2010 I discovered sci-fantasy through Terry Pratchett and have gone onto reading many authors in that realm of fiction. After working in the banking industry for 15 years, I took a different direction and became a self-taught seamstress and owned a costume hire business for many years until I closed it in 2018. I sewed a lot of amazing costumes for the business. I love the steampunk genre and still make costumes for my family and friends. I also sew and sell men’s waistcoats at steampunk events. These events found my photography side. I created a blog site to share my amateur photography experiences. I found with the help of a friend, a free TAFE online writing course. I wanted to learn how to structure my blog so I wouldn’t spew out rubbish. That course led me to re-find that creative side (I enjoyed writing stories as a child). I am currently writing my first horror/murder mystery novel and plotting a second, a sci-fi fantasy novel. I have written a 2500w short story and a number of flash fiction pieces. I look forward to developing my writing creative side and am enjoying the learning process involved.
