Beckoning Night

Beckoning Night

A pit of cruel fire into which our unending feelings of lust and desire needlessly tumble and fall,
Seared by the enveloping flames, yet we still strive to rise and lift our heavy hearts, yearning once more to stand tall;

From the cot to the coffin we tread the tightrope upon which our lives depend and endure pain which never ends,
Dark as the day is, it does not mark the end of us, for we shall take this beckoning night and make our amends.
